Yes, By creating or signing up to an Ad or a keyword you are using Google's as your Advertisement tool, they will showcase your Ad on Google Adsense. You pay a certain amount for each click your Ad's has generated.
How can i benefit from it?

When you created an Ad and Google Adsense used it, a lot of people will have the chance to visit your site and let's say you have some Google Ad's on your site and they clicked on it you gain revenue not only that you earned through the Ad's on your site you also get to endorse your site so that there will be a lot of people that will visit your site.
